WARNING: extra long post ahead!

Danny and I took a quick trip to Chicago, Illinois last weekend! And there was just so many cool buildings and things that I had never seen that I just kinda went picture crazy, hence the super long blog post....

We walked around Soldier Field where the Chicago Bears play

There were Chicago-style tall and skinny houses and apartment buildings all over

We saw some crazy architecture and designs

The NBC building

We visited the Navy Pier

We took our first ferris wheel ride together

There were enormous buildings everywhere you looked

These are the five boys i was stuck with for the weekend :) It was a good group and we had a lot of fun together

We visited the famous giant Chicago Coffee Bean

We rode the trains and busses just like the ones you see in the movies

The Willis Tower is the tallest building in North America at the moment! I can't believe we got to see it :)

We walked around the Chicago Board of Trade building and the Chicago Stock Exchange

We ate some extremely delicious deep dish pizza at Gino's East. This is the place everyone we talked to told us to go and it was good advice. It had a really fun atmosphere and even better pizza.

We even got to make our mark there. Can you find us in the crazy maze of names?

I have to admit that I never thought I would ever get to go to Chicago in my whole life so it was really awesome to get to go together and just see what it was like and how different it is from Moses Lake, Washington and Boise, Idaho. We were kinda stunned and I felt like I was visiting a movie set almost everywhere we went.

Halloween Party at Southwest Airlines

Danny was told to dress up for his Halloween work party and this is what we found:

Creepy, I know! When he tried it on the night before I told him to hurry and take it off because he was creeping me out to bad. It was pretty funny to walk around with him and watch the different people and especially little kids point and stare at him.

Southwest put on the best Halloween celebration that I've ever heard of any company putting on. It was nuts! Almost everyone dresses up, and most of the departments is given a theme and puts on a different event/halloween thing. There was an Alice In Swanderland production, SWA Night Live, an incredible Count On Me stage show, a Swamazing Race, Toy Story, SuperMario, etc. They had everything and the decorations, costumes, and talents were so good. Danny and I had so much fun walking around and going to all the different shows.

All of these pictures were taken of things inside of the SWA headquarters. It was insane! Some of the employees had been planning and working on this for over a month, including getting dance lessons. Tons of employees had gotten their kids out from school just so they could bring them to the party.

The whole thing was unbelievable and I'm just glad that I was invited to go, because I don't think I would've believed it if I didn't get to see it for myself.

After we went around to all of the Halloween festivities, Danny and I went to Babe's with a bunch of Danny's coworkers and his Materials Planning Team. They had been telling Danny about this great Texas BBQ place for awhile so it was great to get to go and try the food. Yum!

Six Flags Over Texas

A couple weeks ago Danny and I decided that since neither of us had ever been to Six Flags, we would take the opportunity while we had one so close to us. It was crazy! I have never been on such insane roller coasters and I don't understand what kind of psycho created these monsters. Despite how scared we were most of the time, we had a lot of fun and I am glad we went.

TITAN: this thing was a monster! It took us up over 25 stories and then dropped us down and sped up to over 85 mph. We thought we were gonna die, and while we were gradually climbing up to the top Danny was wishing his harness would come loose so he could jump off.

Mr. FREEZE: this stupid thing spun us all over and then took us up to the highest point, paused and then dropped us and we did the whole thing over going backwards!

BATMAN: this one was pretty crazy-- instead of sitting above the rail, we were dangling below it and spinning in a million circles, which in the end left me with a very upset stomach.

SUPERMAN: This picture speaks for itself I think-- it shot us all the way up (32 1/2 stories), made us sit up there in horror, than yo-yo'd us up and down then made us sit up there some more and then shot us down to the ground. It was terrible and very fun.

SHOCK WAVE: This one was my favorite ride of the night. I loved it. It took us in two crazy loops and yanked us all over the place.

They also had a roller coaster called Runaway Mountain that was inside a building and was in complete darkness. We couldn't see anything at all and it spun in a million circles until our bodies felt like jello.

By the time we walked out of the theme park, Danny and I were dead. It was a very thrilling experience to say the least. When we got home I couldn't shut my eyes without my head starting to spin all over the place like we were still strapped onto one of those death traps.

A Drive Around Dallas

So Danny and I like to take drives around Dallas every once in a while to see the different areas and see what we can find. Below are some of the things that we found last week...

The new Cowboy stadium, which is huge and even kinda scary-- it looks like some kind of alien headquarters.

The Rangers stadium, which they recently defeated the Yankees in-- Oh Yeah!! Go Rangers!!!

A beautiful mansion that we hope to someday live in :)

We also had a coupon for two free Pinkberrys!! It was delicious frozen yogurt with any toppings we wanted. Danny got a chocolate blend, and I got a mix of vanilla and mango yogurt with lots of yummy fruit. It was a great and very cheap date.

Texas State Fair

On Wednesday we got to go to the Texas State Fair! We went with a group of Danny's coworkers, which made it a lot of fun. It was set up at the Cotton Bowl which was kinda cool. We walked all around, went to a Bird show, saw some really cool cars and trucks (including the Ford Raptor), saw the famous "Big Tex" statue, tried lots and lots of food, including a ginormous turkey leg, Fletcher' Corny Dog, fried chocolate, fried cheesecake (my favorite of course), fried moon pie, and fried Oreos! Basically-- it was a very Healthy and Wonderful experience ;)

Los Angeles

This last weekend Danny and I took a quick trip to Los Angeles, California. We went with three other Southwest interns, Katie, Ryan, and Preet. We were only there for about a day but we accomplished a lot:

visited the Santa Monica pier and beach

watched the sunset

saw a super creepy imitator of 'the Predator'

tried Thai food for the first time

drove around the Staples Center

walked down Malibu Beach

kissed

played in the water

saw some crazy houses

drove down Hollywood Boulevard

visited the Walk of Fame

Overall, it was a short but very exciting trip!

Austin, Texas

Our friends, Blakely & Lindsey Cragun, moved to Austin just a couple weeks before we moved to Dallas. So this weekend we decided to drive down to Austin to visit them. We had a lot of fun and got to see a cool view of Austin, walk around the University of Texas football stadium, and eat at Pappasitos (a very delicious Mexican restaurant). Thanks for taking us around and letting us stay with you guys!

Southwest Plane Pull & LUV Classic

Southwest has a very exciting and fun culture, and they are always hosting activities, parties, and different events. Last Thursday they hosted the RedRiver Plane Pull right behind the building Danny works in. It was for the big rivalry football game that was coming up between University of Texas and Oklahoma University. There was a group of about ten fans from each school and they were competing to see who could pull a huge Southwest airplane over a line the fastest. I didn't think that they would even be able to move the plane at all but the University of Texas won with a time of 30 seconds. It was crazy! There were people from tv and radio stations, music, cheerleaders, mascots, free ice cream, free Monster drinks, and a bunch of cool raffle prizes being given away.

The day after the Plane Pull, Southwest put on their 25th annual LUV Classic & party, which is a huge golf fundraiser that they put on to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. Danny volunteered to help and signed me up with him. We were on hole #14 and watched the golf balls fly by to see if anyone could get a hole-in-one and win a huge prize. However, not even one person got a hole-in-one!

Dominic's Birthday #2

Danny and I were able to fly to Houston for our nephew, Dominic's 2nd Birthday. It was so much fun and Dom is just getting cuter. We had lots of fun at the parks, taking walks, opening presents, eating desserts, and just hanging out! Thanks for letting us come and stay with you guys Lexie and Jacob!

You can tell how much he loves to go to the park.

Dominic fell in love with this tractor as soon as he ripped the wrapping paper off of it. He would hardly leave a room without it. I took him back in their game room and all the sudden he gets up and runs to the living room and then comes back with his tractor, just as happy as can be and just sits with it on his lap :)

Lexie and I made Dominic a barn and animal birthday cake and cupcakes. It was a very chaotic event but we laughed a lot and I love how it turned out.

He was cracking me and Lexie up when all of the sudden we realized that he had gotten up on the table to lay and eat his chips and watch tv all at the same time while wearing only a diaper. So cute and funny!

As you can probably tell, I got a little obsessed with taking pictures of him. But I know that my parents and brothers and sisters will appreciate that.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES

Danny started his internship on September 13th. He has loved it so far. It is a great company with a lot of fun people and a great culture and work environment. Danny has been working so hard and I am so proud of him.

SMU Soccer & Texas Roadhouse

Southern Methodist University is just a couple of minutes from our apartment and since Danny knew that I was sad to be missing the BYU girls soccer games this fall, he took me to a SMU soccer game. It was so nice outside and the game was a lot of fun.

Danny and I were big fans of Texas Roadhouse while we were in Utah so when we got here we decided that we had to try it in the state that it is actually named after.

It was just as delicious as we remembered it :)

Apartment #2

We finally got to our new apartment on September 9th. It is quit a bit smaller than our last apartment but it fits us perfect for right now. We were so thrilled to finally be off the road, until soon after hauling all of our things from our car inside... we realized that there was something very serious wrong with our air conditioning! At least we hoped that there was something wrong with it and that it wasn't just the heat from the Texas weather trying to kill us. It was a long first night but the next day the a/c was fixed, we settled in, and have been enjoying our cozy little air conditioned apartment ever since.

Road Trip

So Danny got an internship on the Materials Planning team at Southwest Airlines... which is in Dallas, TEXAS!! Which is really far from Washington which means that we got to go on a very very long road trip together, approximately 30 hours...! We were grateful to have lots of people to stop and visit on the way though-- we started from Moses Lake, stopped in Boise to stay with Danny's parents for a night, stopped in Salt Lake and visited our sisters Whitney and Amber, then we drove for sixteen hours to Amarillo, and then finally made it to Dallas, Texas.

We were bored enough to take a few pictures along the way...

Why anyone would paint this picture on the wall of their store is beyond me... I would never go in, nevertheless buy anything from there.

Moving out of me and Danny's first apartment together was a sad day. We had so many wonderful memories and experiences while living there during our first year of marriage. I've been meaning to post pictures of it since we first moved in... better late than never I suppose :)

Kyree Ella

At the end of August Danny and I were able to spend a couple weeks at my parents house, which means that we were able to spend a couple weeks with our beautiful niece Kyree!!! She is growing so fast and is the most adorable little chunk ever. We have been missing her like crazy!!

She was so determined to fit that whole toy in her mouth that we could hardly pull it away from her :)

Family Camp Out & Stitch's Wedding!

Almost everyone was able to make it home to Moses Lake so that we could all go camping together. It was so much fun and we loved it. We played in the sun, in the lake, around the campfire (well kinda..), and we went on an eight mile hike. The picture below shows how exhausted, sweaty, and happy we all were at the end.

After our wonderful camping trip, Danny and I headed back to Utah for our good friend Adam's wedding. Adam and Danny used to be roommates and have had a lot of good times together. It was so great to see him find someone that he loves so much and that he can spend eternity with. It was a beautiful wedding and we're so glad we could be there!

August was another very exciting and eventful month. I was able to fly to California for Tanae and Garrett's wedding. It was so much fun and their reception and wedding ceremony were both beautiful! Thanks for letting me be a part of it!

Last Days of July 2010

Spencer and Kelly invited Danny, me, Amber, and Todd over for a big Sunday feast. It was so good and before we left we made Kelly write down every recipe that she made for us!! Unfortunately, I was so busy consuming food that this is the only picture that I got... I can't believe their youngest is so big!

We also were able to go to the 2010 Tracy Reunion this year! So many of the family was able to be there, which made it really fun. I was especially grateful because I was able to get to know so many of the Tracy's that I hadn't gotten the chance to meet or talk to yet. We had lots of fun on the water and around the campfire. I was not very good at taking pictures but I did get an awesome one of Danny's little cousin, Carson. We were so infatuated with his cuteness that every picture I took had him in it ;)

To top July off, my two best friends came to visit me!! It was so much fun to spend time together, just the three of us. It was also perfect timing because Danny had left to go work in Washington with my dad for a few weeks while I stayed and finished up the summer semester. Brianne and Marielle are the most fun and funniest friends that you could have. We had some fun sleepovers and a rowdy dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was so awesome to get to see them and to make more memories together.

4th of July Weekend

For the Fourth of July weekend we went camping with Amber and Todd at the Diamond Fork campgrounds near Provo. It was a blast and a fun adventure!

...yes he still looks bald... and yes, he may look like a white supremacist...

For those of you who know about my very expert and stealth-like animal catching skills, you may have already guessed that there was a full-out, insane BUNNY HUNT. There were several close encounters, several dashes and dives, several near-death experiences, and .... unfortunately an unsuccessful outcome.

However, I feel that we gained some very valuable experience that is sure to lead to extreme success on our next endeavor.

Mom made a last minute visit to our campsite and went on a hike up to the hot springs with us.

Besides a bunch of bunnies, there was also a whole lot of mice running around (nasty, I know)... which led to me and Ambers' husbands turning into fierce, tomahawk throwing, mice-killers.

Overall, the camping trip was an exciting event that will not soon be forgotten.

The day after we got back Danny made the most delicious Shishkabobs ever!! They looked so beautiful that I thought I would share a picture with you.

June 2010

We finally got a new camera!! It has been way way to long

since we've had a working camera but now that we do we have been taking lots of pictures and I plan to share them with you and update our blog much more often (which shouldn't be too hard to beat...)!

Me and Isac's Birthday was on June 28th. Isac turned 19 and I turned 21. A couple days before my birthday Amber and Todd had Danny and me over for a wonderful CAFE RIO FIESTA. It was so much fun and the food was so delicious!!

I can't believe I am now 21! My birthday was so much fun and I got so many great presents from everyone. My co-workers threw me a great party at work, Amber came down to Provo and went shopping with me, some friends came over for Brownie Sundae's, I got Snorta (my new favorite game), and Danny got me a love fern!!!!

As a late birthday present I came home the next day after work and found that my husband's beautiful head of hair (see picture above) was gone and that he was practically BALD!! He said that he had been trimming his hair with a buzzer and when he was done with his head he took the longer razor blade off to trim his facial hair. However he noticed that he had missed a spot on his head and forgetting that he had taken the longer razor blade off he shaved a bald stripe in his hair and was than forced to shave the rest off. Well this is the story that he told me when I came home and started freaking out anyways...

And so went our very surprising month of June...

Baby Bergeson!

My brother and my sister-in-law had their baby last night! I can't believe Severin is a dad!!! I am so happy for them and their adorable little family. Congratulations!

It's so amazing how much you automatically love a new member of your family. I am so excited to hold my niece! It's also amazing (and a little weird) to see your brother become a parent... Severin has already been changed by his little girl. I could tell the difference as soon as I heard his voice after she was born. It's like he suddenly realizes the unconditional love and gratefulness that our mom and dad have always had for him. You think that you already understand until you have your own child and your understanding explodes (at least that's what I hear, seeing how I haven't i've never experienced it yet ;)).

Speaking to Haley made my eyes tear up. It's so wonderful that Severin has such an amazing eternal companion to be the mother and teacher of his children. I am so grateful for her. She is a wonderful example to me. It will be so great to see her as a mom.

I am also so grateful for Severin. He has always been my example, the best big brother, and a person that I have always been able to look up to no matter what. I don't know how he has lived the way that he has, except for his strength, faith, and love. Now I will be able to watch his example as a parent-- i know he will be the perfect dad for Baby Bergeson.

I love you guys and I am so happy for you! I can't wait to meet your little, dark-haired girl!

Danny surprised me and planned a week long trip to Cancun, Mexico for our Honeymoon. It was so much fun! We were able to go snorkeling, visit some Mayan ruins and old cities, lay on the beach at our hotel, and eat some amazing food :)

The Wedding Day

It's difficult to explain the feelings that you have on your wedding day. When I was really young I wanted to get married outside on a sandy beach. I was so upset when someone told me that, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I would get marred inside of a temple. However, after being sealed to Danny for eternity, I cannot imagine my wedding day without the temple. That day, that you seem to have been anticipating, preparing for, and waiting for so long to come, seems to pass by so quickly... except for the moments that are spent within the walls of our Lord's temple. I wouldn't trade those moments or that day for anything.

I loved the shots with the bridesmaids and groomsmen... Amber did such a good job!
